Don't get into a relationship

I never find a boyfriend because you never know what going to happen at the end of the relationship. Sometime girls move to fast in a relationship. My mom said, "never put your guard down for nobody." They might end up breaking your heart. Never miss a boy because they want miss you back. Never date a boy that's graduation  from high school. They might just want to use you for sex. For example, this boy was just dating this girl to get in her pants. You can't put your guard down. In conclusion, never get a relationship unless you can really trust them and care about that person.

What different colors mean to me?

I use and wear different colors to show how I'm feeling because colors can symbolize different emotions. Blue means to me when your feel sick or not feeling good.  For example, I had to stay at home because I was feeling blue. I was sick with the flu. Pink means to me to be sweet or kind to each other. I wear pink because it makes me feel be sweet to people at school. Red means me to be in love or joy. On valentine day, you know that your in love because your lover will give you red roses to show you guests are in love. In conclusion, these colors mean something to me, but may mean something else to you.

WHO KNOWS ME BEST?

Who knows me best?  My mommy, because she birthed me, she knows strength and weakness, and knows my friends. She knows me best because she birthed me. My mom is some how a part of me because when  she had me, some of her genes came to me. She also knows my strength and weakness. She knows my strength because when I came to high school, I was so scared that I wasn't going to make friends. But, my mom said " it's going be OK." Now, I am in my second year of high school. I have friends now because my mom said it was going be OK. My weakness is being more open to people. I was always a shy person when I was little I didn't have too many friends. My mom knew that I can break through walls that come my way. She help me with confidence and self-esteem. My mom knows my friends. She always said, "she always needs to meet my friends and that's a good thing because she brings the real side out of me at home. In conclusion, nobody knows me better than my mommy.

Dress Code

We shouldn't have dress code because we want more freedom, don't buy uniforms, and to be comfortable. students get to express how they look instead looking like twins. Everybody have different style that they want to show off at school or outside the school. A lot of students don't have money for uniforms. Some students are not blessed with money.  Also, students want to be comfortable in their own clothes and skin. When we had uniforms it made us itchy and taught  In closing, no uniforms are the best thing that happened in DPS.

Denver Vs Kenya

The three differences in greetings between Denver and Kenya are showing respect, addressing elders and handshakes. They both show respect. When greeting in Denver, give eye to eye contact. It shows that we are listening to each other. In Kenya, they lower their eyes when they’re greeting an elder. To show respect to their elders. They address their elders differently. In Denver, we refer to elders as Mr. or Mrs. But; children in Kenya refer to all adults as “Aunt” or “Uncle.” Although we both give out handshakes, it’s done in different ways. Denver gives out firm handshakes and men don’t wait for women to extend hand first. However, Kenya gives handshake but, a man waits for the women to extend hand first. This is most interesting because most countries don’t wait for women first. In closing, here are some differences they do when greeting in  their countries.

Coal mining

I'm against for continued coal mining because it's very dangerous, can cause health problems, and a hard job to do. Miners work under bad conditions where shafts and tunnels can cave in or flood and ventilation can fail. Also, coal is inherently moire dangerous than metal mining. When they break down coal the dust can get in their lungs and the dust can cause black lung disease. Burning coal puts pollution into the environment. Coal miners don't make that much money compared to the dangers of the job. The average is $81.462 for all the U.S. coal miners. They might make good money but, they are risking their lives and health. Coal mining shouldn't be a resource for the energy because it's bad for the environment, and dangerous for miners.

The Where I'm from Poem

I am from buzzing alarm clocks, from dove and strawberry smoothies...

I am from the rose bushes with  sharp thorns...

I am from family reunions, from the backyard to the living room...
I am from my cousin sleeping in my room and tip toeing in the early morning with my parents asleep...

I am from the loud mouth family and the big hugs we give out...

From my mom saying, penny's were good luck and beans give you gas...
I am from my parents coming to Chicago...

I'm from Denver Colorado, yams also fried chicken...

From  my mom's childhood in Chicago, and when my aunt feel in the bucket with heels on...
I am from my memories...

I am from my family taking a picture in front of MLK statue..
